2013 Campaign Endorsements

Over nearly a decade I have had the privilege of working closely with Claire Syrett, candidate for the Eugene City Council. First, as a colleague at Lane Community College, she taught in the Flight Technology Program. For the past eight years she has been supervisor to many of my student interns through LCC’s Cooperative Education program, where she has provided inspired training and direction to my students working with both the American Civil Liberties Union and the Eugene-Springfield Solidarity Network. What I can say about Claire, without reservation, is that she is one of the most dedicated, intelligent, hard-working and gracious colleagues I’ve had the pleasure to know in my professional life at LCC. Her compassion and commitment to social and economic justice in our community and her willingness to work with and train our students in those pursuits should make her an excellent public official, and one of whom we can all be proud.
